Richmond Townhouse
Alterations and Lift over 4 levels

A heritage listed building converted to a four-level townhouse was an easy home to fall in love with. However, to ensure it remained a comfortable and practical home for the long term, it needed to be futureproofed with the addition of a lift. Working within the constraints of the heritage fabric, a non-uniform floor plan, and existing stair locations, this was a highly considered exercise in precision. The result is a bold yet respectful insertion into an already spectacular space. Alongside the lift, various new indoor areas were created to enhance functionality and fully utilise all four levels, complemented by updates to outdoor spaces that make spending time enjoying that view even sweeter.
